Congleton Hydro is happy to announce that the planning application for our small-scale hydro-electric power scheme was successfully submitted last month. It took a lot of time and effort to compile this planning application. During the last few months a number surveys have been commissioned.
These include :
- Aboricultural Survey
- Noise Study
- Topological Survey
- Structural Survey
- Ecological Survey (In summary, no evidence of water vole was unearthed, evidence of American crayfish was found, but no white-clawed (British) crayfish and evidence of otters was discovered.)

Currently Cheshire East advise that the determination date has been set for January 15th, 2019. We believe that the planning application should satisfy all the planning requirements.
